BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2010
LEADING WITH CARE, MEETING RESPONSIBILITY WITH COMMITMENT
Mike Schumacher – President
Co-Owner/General Manager, Reliable Heating & Cooling
I started with Reliable Heating & Cooling and in the HVAC industry in February, 1997 as an apprentice helper. After completing trade school and working in the field for three years, I moved into residential and light commercial sales. In 2006, I began as General Manager and I currently hold that position. My responsibilities include marketing, sales, payroll, and office administration.
I began attending ACCA general meetings with the former owner of Reliable shortly after starting work in 1997. The meetings were quite different then, and so was the HVAC business. As the business began to change rapidly, I really felt that ACCA was the only organization that had the resources and knowledge to help our company keep up. I wanted to get more involved with the organization and was elected to the board in 2005 serving as Secretary. The next two years I served as Vice-President and I am currently serving as President of the St. Louis Chapter. I still believe joining ACCA is the most cost effective and efficient way to keep abreast of all the rapid changes in this industry and I look forward to being a part of the organization for years to come.
Phil Hendrickson – Vice President
Project Manager/Estimator, Doll, Inc.
I have been in the HVAC/Mechanical Contracting industry for 40 years, the early part of my career was as an HVAC service technician. I owned my own HVAC Contracting Company for 14 years. After selling my company 10 years ago, I have worked as an HVAC/Mechanical Project Manager/Estimator. I was elected to the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Chapter of ACCA, 2 years ago and am currently Vice President of the Board of Directors and on the Membership Committee. I feel that ACCA provides numerous viable benefits such as: networking with other like contractors and vendors, apprenticeship training, continuing educational training, plus the ability to keep up with the continuous changes in the industry as well as the changes in governmental issues concerning our industry. When asked to serve on the ACCA Board of Directors, I was honored to have the opportunity to contribute to an organization that is as beneficial to our industry as ACCA.
Lois
Keeven – Secretary
Office Manager, Keeven Heating &
Cooling
I've been working in the HVAC/R industry for almost
40 years when my husband, Ron Keeven, took over an HVAC company. For
the last 25 years, I have been involved in the day-to-day operations of
Keeven Heating & Cooling, Inc. My current position is Office
Manager/Human Resource /Secretary of that corporation. This year I
have started a separate company to do geothermal drilling for HVAC
companies.
I am a board member because I believe my experience can benefit my
fellow HVAC contractors. From the days in 1998 of lobbying Jefferson
City to St. Louis County licensing in 2004, ACCA-St. Louis has always
been at the forefront of keeping its members informed and trained. I
have been on the board since 2008 and would like to continue supporting a
board and association that has been there through the tough battles.
Joe Papa – Treasurer
Chief Financial Officer, Air Comfort Service, Inc.
I’ve been working in the HVAC/R industry for 11 years. I am currently one of the owners and the C.F.O. of Air Comfort Service, Inc. I enjoy sitting on the ACCA-St. Louis board because I want to serve, develop, and grow the organization.
Patty Clisham – Director
Owner, DUCTZ of West St. Louis
Seth Goldkamp – Director
Design Aire Heating and Cooling
Robert Hoffmann – Director
Vice President, Hoffmann Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.
Contractors are stronger working as a team than working as a group of individuals trying to survive on our own. We can share resources such as training, human relations, legal, and work together on larger projects. We have also found it necessary to be involved with the government especially when it concerns licensing of Mechanical contractors, taxes, health insurance and tax credits. Someone needs to be looking out for our interests or they will legislate or tax you out of business.
I have more than 20 years HVAC experience and served as President in 2001 and 2002, Vice President in 2000 and treasurer in 1999 and was honored as the Air Conditioning Man of the year in 2000 and 2001. I obtained my Professional Engineer’s license in 1986, graduated from Ranken Technical College in HVAC in 1991, completed the HVAC design course from UMR in 1993, and completed the U.S. Department of Labor HVAC training program in 2001.
Dave Niedzwiecki – Associate Director
Sales Manager, Johnstone Supply
I have 20+ years of industry related experience, 14 years on the Manufacturing/Manufacturing Representative side of the business and 6 years on the Wholesale side of the business. I am currently responsible for all sales and marketing, inside and out, for our 4 local stores in the St. Louis Metro area.
I have been on the local ACCA Board since 2005, chairman of the program committee, but I have also served on the membership committee, website committee and Green Committee. ACCA is important to me because it is our industry voice. I watch ACCA contractors strive to be the best at what they do day after day, tough economy or not. Always wanting to raise the bar in our industry. I believe that ACCA is always striving to help their members be the best they can be, especially staying on top of Licensing issues and business training. I just want to help in any way I can.
